Topic : Automatic SQL Dump of ALL DB before auto-update

Posted By: ben74 on May 25, 2014, 9:07 am
Hello,

I've opened a ticket as my last auto-update is a real MASSACRE : now ampps doesn't open at all... so it's a bit of an horror story as I don't have access to my client's dev sites.

Coming from mamps where i have NEVER has this issue it's a real pain in the butt to see Ampps crash this way.

Anyway, the MINIMUM acceptable behavior would be that Ampps makes an SQL Dump of all DB before doing the auto-update... This way if the auto-update breaks everything (which is precisely what occured on my install) I will still be able to move the DB and files elsewhere.

Right now I'm 100% stuck as I have the files but not the DB dump... So I'm waiting for the support to come up with either a solution or a way to recover my DB. Needless to say that in the meantime I'm not doing any client work...

Cheers,

Hi,

Okay. Thank you for the suggestion. We will take the backup in coming version of Ampps. May be not in next version but yes, coming versions.
