Is there a way to manage the default settings when installing Wordpress?

I would like to NOT have the Site Description required.

Hi,

You can make a custom package of WordPress and then add it to Softaculous :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/Making_Custom_Package

You can take current WordPress package as base :
/var/softaculous/wp/

The Site Description comes from install.xml file and you can make it as Optional field there. We recommend making a custom package instead of changing the /var/softaculous/wp/install.xml file because when there is an update in WordPress this file will be overwritten.

Creating a custom package seems confusing.

So can I just duplicate my /var/softaculous/wp/ folder as /var/softaculous/wp2/ ?  Then make necessary changes to the /wp2/ version?

Looks like duplicating the WP folder and adding it as a custom script works.

Question: When there is a new Wordpress version will my duplicated folder/script pull the latest Wordpress files automatically?

Lastly, is there a way to get rid of this Advanced Option on the install page?  Or have it prechecked?

The custom package will not be updated automatically you will have to do it manually.

It is not possible at the moment. We will try to add it in the next version.

OK, bummer Wordpress won't update automatically.

So I setup my custom script, but I am having trouble installing my additional plugin with the Wordpress install.

I see the additional plugin selected under the Select Plugins section (see below) and I also have the plugin's ZIP file in the same plugin directory that the Limit Login Attempts is in but it does not install with Wordpress.  Any ideas?  The only other file I did not update is the MD5 file which listed some Limit Login Attempts stuff.  Do I need to update this file to make this work?

Hi,

You will have to include the ZIP download package of your plugin in the plugins folder and you will also have to write the code to install the plugin in install.php
