 How to install different versions of a software, Need to installl different typo3 versions (7 Replies, Read 6918 times)

Hi,

i need 2-3 different versions of typo3 and wordpress installed on the AMPPS-Server.
How can i achieve this; is the an option to add/ setup own versions on the system.

I mean, can i add into installer different versions of a software and setup then through the installer? Is that possible ? If yes need some brief descriptions, please.

Hi,

Sir Softaculous supports latest stable version of the script. So we have 3.4.2 for WordPress and we support two branches for Typo3 i.e. 4.7.6, 4.5.20 as they support two branches.

Hi Brijesh,

thank you, but i think i am misunderstood, because i want to know, how can i add own versions into your system and setup these within AMPPS?

any how-to or help in this special case would ne nice for me, because i need installed 3 different versions.

Hi,

Sir you will have to make the Custom package add the previous versions as a Custom package. You may refer to the following guide om how to make a Custom package :

Hi Brijesh,

thank you very much for your help, but this is very complicated to setup 2 new versions.

is it not possible for me to upload the neccessary files into the www directory and istall it directly from there, without the "AMPPS Installation mechanism" ?

I mean can i also install software directly and generate some alias then, like
wordpress1 or wordpress2 for the made installations?

i hope i could explain clearly my needs, because i know, that sometimes it's difficult to explain it via mail.

Hi,

Sir it seems that you are referring to install multiple installations of scripts. Eg: wp1, wp2

You can do this by choosing different values for the "In Directory" field on the install form of the script.
http://ampps.com/wiki/Install_a_Script

Eg : If you wish wordpress1 and wordpress2
You can follow the above guide and fill the value for "In Directory" as "wordpress1" you will be able to access the installation :
http://localhost/wordpress1
and then again go to the install screen and make another installation and fill the value for "In Directory" as "wordpress2" and you can access it here :
http://localhost/wordpress2
Similarly you can install as many versions as you want.

When i installed a script, does AMPPS create a template for this installation, which i could use with some changing in settings for other scripts?

where is for example the template data for my wordpress installation saved?

so i could change some parameters, and could install version 3.3 for instance.

The other question would be: can i delete some scripts from AMPPS Panel?
or can i restrict access to them?

Sorry I didn't get you. Are you looking for Web Directory of your installation ? Its is in Ampps\www.

You can disable it from Admin Panel http://localhost/ampps-admin -> Software. Uncheck the softwares which are not required and Update the settings.
