Hello,

I'm trying to set up a wiki for our internal team to document knowledge. I've chosen MediaWiki as the softaculous demo shows a WYSIWYG type interface for editing pages however when I've installed this, the actual installed version doesn't seem to have this, it just has an edit page where you edit the Wiki markup language which is no good for us.

I've tried 3 different versions of it, but none work like the demo. Am I missing something? It looks like I may need parsoid / node.js which isn't compatible with my hosting provider etc, but as I'm starting a new wiki from scratch I don't actually want to edit and existing pages anyway, just create new content?

Any ideas?

thanks!

Hi,

It seems you will need to install the following extension to your MediaWiki installation :
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WYSIWYG

By default this extension is not included in MediaWiki hence the same is not included when you install it via Softaculous.
