I have an existing live (remotely hosted) website  e.g. mywebsite.com I want to set the site up on ampps so that I can develop the site offline. I check the domain Addon box and complete the Domain Path as follows;C:/Program Files (x86)/Ampps/www/mywebsite.com I go to advance settings and check the "check to add entry box" After adding the domain, I go to domain manage and select mywebsite.com.  It then takes me to my live site  :-( These are the same settings that I use for sites that don't exist and they work fine. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

In manage domain itself, you should be able to see the Host File Contents. Can you see the entry for mywebsite.com in it ?

No, I believe that this is because I have not yet installed any files for the site.

Hi,

Add the following entry in hosts file manually if its not present :
Code
127.0.0.1      mywebsite.com

It wont take you to live site then.
