 ERROR ■The MySQL Database could not be selected. (11 Replies, Read 17162 times)

On install any script via  Softaculous like Wordpress/Joomla the following error show after click on install Botton.

  • The MySQL Database could not be selected.
      on cPanel 11.25.0-C40108 - WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9
      I think Softaculous not compatible with cPanel 11.25.0-C40108
      Any help ??

    		I'm getting the same error message. We're running cPanel 11.25.0-C40108 - WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9 so I'm going to try downgrading WHM to stable release as there's been other issues we've noticed (as usual) on this latest cPanel update.

    		Downgrading to cPanel 11.24.5-S38506 fixed the issue. I guess there's still a few bugs to sort out in the latest cPanel release which is why I prefer to stick to stable releases.

    		I think its not a cPanel BUG, The only issue is that  Softaculous is not compatible with new cPanel 11.25.0-C40108.
    Just Softaculous need to update their code compatible with new cPanel release.
    The downgrade cPanel is not a permanent solution as cPanel will be release cPanel 11.25.0-C40108 as a stable release soon.

    There are issues in the incomplete releases of cpanel.
    Our scripts are as per their API.

    what would you suggest then? downgrading back to cpanel 11.24?

    We recommend you use the Stable Release as that is still the version cPanel recommends on their main website.

    		Yes but you have to fix this problem soon as some cpanel users now prefer to use 11.25

    You cannot mandate clients to adjust for your script. You should be adjusting for your clients

    That depends where the problem lies. I believe what alons is saying is that the problem is with cPanel not softaculous and if I were a betting man that's where I'd put my money.

    		As per the update just sent, Softaculous will now work properly with cPanel 11.25.0.

    Well it appears you are wrong. The problem was with Softaculous not working because of the new cPanel APIs. cPanel is cPanel, it won't adjust for Softaculous. Softaculous must adjust for cPanel if alons want this script going.

    And yes, we have received an update that Softaculous is now compatible with 11.25 which is a good thing

    You're quite right but I was only suggesting that it might not be softaculous' fault because we've found many other bugs in the latest cPanel update. If you like, you can do a victory dance or something.
