I would like to toss in the suggestion of adding a cron for automatic script update which will automatically update the items which are already installed on the system.

When new items are released, put a notification on the main Softaculous page to advise of now softwares. This way the admin can log in and add the new softwares as needed by performing a manual update. Additionally, if something fails to update, show an alert on the main Softaculous page which will allow the admin the ability to manually upgrade it later on.

One thing that would need to change is the automatic selection of new items once new items are released in the software list.

What do you think? It would save us Admins some time in software updates.

Plesk script installer already has an option for users to auto-update scripts. Softaculous is behind the times.

Hi,

We have added the option to auto upgrade scripts from Softaculous admin panel as well as via CRON. This feature was added several versions back.

Here is the guide for the same :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/Auto_Upgrade_Installation

At the moment not all scripts have auto upgrade, here is the list of scripts with auto upgrade option :
http://www.softaculous.com/softaculous/auto_upgrade

We will be adding auto upgrade for the remaining scripts soon.
