You must include wordpress and phpbb, rather then other pieces of scripts. excluding it will make the project go downhill.

Frankly, I have to agree.

What is your aim? Trying to convince people to pay money for the project just so they can access the most-used scripts, or get as many people use it and have an extensive option available for those that wish to support your software?

If the latter, you need to at least include 2 of the most used scripts per category in the free version. For forums, phpBB3 and either SMF of MyBB.
And so on for all categories. This will make Softaculous more widely used, and once that happens there'll be more people requesting the premium version.

To be frank, though, I think that if you intend to offer a free and a premium version, you should instead of calling 'free' and 'premium', give them different names. Call the free one 'Softaculous' and give the premium one a different name (and preferable also a lay-out that looks professional but is associated with the premium version instead of free version) since those that know Softaculous, probably know it as a free service. Why? Customers can't be fooled that way if there is a clear difference between the free and the premium version. The hosts that advertise Softaculous as one of their services, advertises the 58 scripts version. The hosts that advertise the premium version, though, says they're offering more then 100 scripts. Instead of just saying 'Softaculous, an auto-installer for your favorite scripts', and leaving the customer to guess whether it is the free or the premium version.

Also, with the current setup, I wonder whether the API for creating your own auto-installers to work with Softaculous will still work in the free version. If so, how would you prevent people from just trying to mimic your installation script and offer them for free on the web, thus removing the difference. Another reason for having a different name + lay-out for the premium version.

Just some food for thought, Alons.

The thing is, in the free version, Jamie says he can't install Wordpress through Softaculous. (Remember, Softaculous recently has split up into a free and a premium feature).

I have to agree. Include wordpress in your free version. Otherwise, people will not even try out Softaculous

You downloaded Softaculos before    August 27, 2009, so your version is in fact premium until December 31, 2010.

It has already been stated that WordPress is not in the free version
