Topic : Updating phpBB 3.1.1-3.1.2 via Softaculous

Posted By: DigiDog on November 28, 2014, 12:25 am
I've just updated to 3.1.2 via Softaculous and received a success message. Everything seems good and the board is working nicely. However when I open the ACP I see this message.

I had to remove that image because:
"You are not allowed to post links on this forum because you are new to this forum." That's annoying.

The ACP still showed the current version as 3.1.1 and insists it should be updated.

I've since manually updated the board but I'm sure others will come across this same problem. Any thoughts?

There's not much point as I've already updated the board manually, so nothing to see there I'm afraid.

I wish I could be more helpful. I have screen grabs showing the Softaculous success screen and phpBB still showing 3.1.1 installed, but apparently I can't post them yet as I'm a newbie in these parts.

Hi,

Thank you for providing the screenshots.

After looking at the screenshots it looks like you made a new install of phpBB instead of upgrading the existing one.

You need to refer to the following guide on how to upgrade an installation :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/How_to_upgrade_installations

If you follow the above guide your installation should be upgrade fine.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I used the upgrade option. I've done this several times in the past with no problems.

However my problem was solved by manually updating files from phpBB. I posted this in case anyone else had a similar problem.

Thanks for your help! ;-)
