Topic : Not answering support tickets

Posted By: trevjacuk on September 4, 2017, 1:28 pm
I have had an open support ticket with the support team for almost 5 days, there seems to be an issue with the software, I am using Xen 4.9 the instructions have been followed to the letter however the HyperVM is still unable to create a windows VPS it just lists errors after error

The team have no replied since Saturday morning I am starting to think maybe the software does not support what it says on the tin.

Am I missing something ?

Hi,

Virtualizor support is mostly unavailable during the weekend.

Can you show me which error messages you got? I know that they are mostly not very helpful, but I could give you further advise on how you could get more output.

Regards

There was an error while starting the new VPS
Parsing config from /etc/xen/auto/v1001.cfg WARNING: ignoring "vncviewer" option. Use "-V" option of "xl create" to automatically spawn vncviewer. libxl: error: libxl_dm.c:2173:libxl__spawn_local_dm: Domain 7:device model /usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm is not executable: No such file or directory libxl: error: libxl_dm.c:2339:device_model_spawn_outcome: Domain 7:(null): spawn failed (rc=-3) libxl: error: libxl_create.c:1501:domcreate_devmodel_started: Domain 7:device model did not start: -3 libxl: error: libxl_domain.c:1003:libxl__destroy_domid: Domain 7:Non-existant domain libxl: error: libxl_domain.c:962:domain_destroy_callback: Domain 7:Unable to destroy guest libxl: error: libxl_domain.c:889:domain_destroy_cb: Domain 7 :D estruction of domain failed (90%)

That is the error I get, from what I can see it has something to do with demu-dm

Hi,
You are getting this issue on which version of Xen and which OS  and kernel, what is the storage type,  have you installed this on dedicated or a Virtual server ?

Provide above details for us to replicate and troubleshoot the issue.

I am sure I sent an email reply saying I reinstalled the server, then switched to the KVM option which there were no issues what so ever for me, once the bridge was setup and the correct settings applied it was very much out of the box situation and was working in less than 2 hours.

However for Xen I think you need to look at your options as they do not seem to be as so simple as they did for KVM as there was a lot of issues with mods being installed and correct software like lx and xm being mixed up.

I have a few nodes running the software under openvz until I tried the Xen option I have never had call to ask for help and I feel with the KVM I will also have no need to request help.

As above sort out the issues with Xen I tried many of your supported OS they all seemed to have issues of one kind or another so that is the bit with the product you need to fix.

Hi,
I have installed Virtualizor Xen on CentOS 7 OS, and I was able to create VPS fine.

Have you also check our reponse on ticket # 291035 ?

I am aware of the situation where Xen by default uses xl instead of xm in new installations. Virtualizor panel can be informed to use xl instead of xm (default in old versions) in Slave settings.

If you decide to try out Virtualizor with Xen and still find same issue, reply back on that ticket with your server login details, we will surely troubleshoot.

Good to know you found Virtualizor useful with KVM and OpenVZ.

Really I thought the installer in the current stable version would not support centos 7 well that is the message it displayed on Friday last week when I tried it.

Maybe you have updated the installer in the last few days. Maybe you could update your documentation to show all these extras. You saw the output I posted before I was told it would take sometime to solve no reply in 5 days then a post here and you seem keen.

I may try Xen again at a later date when I need my next machine to see what it does.

Hi,
Correction in my previous reply, its CentOS release 6.9 (Final) with Xen release 4.9.34-29.el6.x86_64

Same as I used the last error I had before going with KVM was Xen Modules Not Installed Correctly

So hence something is not quiet right with the server image or the installer.

I also had the same errors under Ubuntu which I tend to use more than Centos
