Since there doesn't seem to be a section on Pagelayer I am adding it here. Hope that is okay.....

Hope someone can help me with this.

I am familiar with css and static html sites but just learning WordPress. So I have lots of experience, just not a lot of WordPress experience.

I am using Pagelayer on a very simple WordPress site. I cannot seem to find where to edit the header or footer. It was under Appearance / Customize but that link is no longer active, for some reason.

So I went and purchased Pagelayer Pro, thinking that may help but it didn't, in fact maybe it made it worse.

So the issue is I cannot find where to edit my header or footer.

When I go to Appearance / Customize and click on the Header. Footer, Templates, Pages link it just opens up all the pages, no header or footer. I tried looking for the header and footer.php files but there is only “template style” code there, not the actual content.

So please help and let me know where it is. Basically what I want to do is change background colour and content.

In the Sitepad program which I use, you can find the header settings under the settings menu option "Website UI". This gives you the "Pagelayer Website Settings page" under the "Headers and footers" tab.

In WordPress Admin go to Pagelayer > Theme Templates > Then choose the existing Header or Footer and then "Edit with Pagelayer". If no header or footer exist you need to create one.
What WP theme are you using?
I found using the PopularFX plugin: https://popularfx.com/plugin/ very helpful!

Thank you so much for this. It is exactly what I needed. I don't know how I didn't find that myself. I will also look into the PopularFX plugin you suggested.
