I've perused the 'configure SMTP/PHP Mail' instructions on how to configure the contact form email, however the configuration with 'ssl://domain.com' still fails to connect over port 587. Office 365 does not use ssl, but StartTLS for encryption. Is there a different prefix to use to engage starttls protocol? I tried starttls://domain.com, but that failed immediately.

Hi,
Try using tls://domain.com when configuring a tls mail. The port is a TLS port so ssl://domain.com won't work. I tried tls://smtp.office365.com, but no go. 'Failed even to connect'. See error message in picture and configuration screen.
Just as a suggestion, it would be great to have a 'test' button on the simple contact form configuration page. |
