Topic : Sitepad Contact Form and Office 365

Posted By: mslaga on April 5, 2018, 5:57 pm
I've perused the 'configure SMTP/PHP Mail' instructions on how to configure the contact form email, however the configuration with 'ssl://domain.com' still fails to connect over port 587.  Office 365 does not use ssl, but StartTLS for encryption.  Is there a different prefix to use to engage starttls protocol?  I tried starttls://domain.com, but that failed immediately.

Couldn't find a solution for this, so I just setup php mail to a non-o365 mail source, then configured rules there to forward to O365 mailbox.  Quite convoluted, but doesn't seem to be any other option at the moment.  Figured I would share the work-around at least.

Hi,

Try using tls://domain.com when configuring a tls mail. The port is a TLS port so ssl://domain.com won't work.

If you still face issue let us know.

I tried tls://smtp.office365.com, but no go.  'Failed even to connect'.  See error message in picture and configuration screen.

Just as a suggestion, it would be great to have a 'test' button on the simple contact form configuration page.
