Topic : problem installing softaculous

Hi,

We are trying to install softaculous on a cpanel with php 5.4.
we get the following error:
Site error: the file <b>/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/enduser/main/functions.php</b> requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.3.so to be installed by the website operator.

we have ioncube 5.4 loaded but it still looking for 5.3.

please advise.

Hi,

It seems Ioncube is not loaded in your cPanel's 3rd party PHP binary. Can you please enable Ioncube from WHM -> Tweak Settings.

I have this same problem however the message that appears is version 5.4 as follows:

Site error: the file /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/index.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.4.so to be installed by the website operator. If you are the website operator please use the ionCube Loader Wizard to assist with installation.

Already we have the option in Tweak Settings -> PHP and the error persists.

Hi,

I have checked your support ticket and I was able to access Softaculous admin panel as well as Enduser panel on your server.

Would you like to share the steps you performed to resolve this issue ?

Disabling Ioncube and then enabling it again from WHM -> Tweak Settings -> PHP should resolve the issue.

Hi,

There was a bug in cPanel's particular version of 11.60 branch causing the Ioncube not to be loaded even if it is selected in WHM -> Tweak Settings

Can you please go to WHM -> Tweak Settings and uncheck "Ioncube" and click on the "Save" button and then select the "Ioncube" checkbox and click on "Save" again.

Let us know if you still face the issue.

I did and didn't work neither.

I had to recompile with iocube modules in PHP.

This is strange because Softaculous uses cPanel's 3rd party PHP binary and in order to enable Ioncube in that binary you have to do it from Tweak Settings. Recompiling Apache will enable Ioncube for the default PHP binary i.e. /usr/bin/php

Was your issue resolved ?

Yes, we tried compiling using different ioncube / php versions and we could make it work, thanks.
