Hi.

Usually when I'm building a website I create it in the sub folder, so that client gets to preview and comment the progress without others to see it. After its complete I will transfer it to root.

I love to use softaculous in my dedicated server for installing and updating, but I dont know how to change the folder after installation.
There is this "edit installation details" but if I change the directory and URL, I get error "The URL and DIRECTORY name do not match"

Settings I have now are:
directory: /home/client1/public_html/web
URL: http://www.clientwebsite.com/web

I thought I just need to take that sub folder /web away?

Hi,

Sir the Edit installation page is to edit the details if you
have already moved the site to the new directory. This just edits the
record in Softaculous and does not move the installation. And if you
have already moved your site and you still get the error "The URL and
DIRECTORY name do not matc" then you need to add a trailing slash at
the end of path as well as URL.
