Softaculous

Topic : Restore Size Limit?

Posted By: lcorsa on July 17, 2017, 7:36 pm
I am having trouble restoring Softaculous WP backups. I have no problem with backup, but resyore gives the error, "oops...connection has been lost." I had no trouble with restore when the backup size was around 3,2GB. It has now grown to around 3.8G. and I always get an error when trying to restore.

I have an ample dedicated server at Inmotion. Their tech support said it was a problem with the Softaculous GUI and they can do restores from the command line. However, when they asked me to check if the restore was done peoperly, it was not. I would prefer to do backups/restore from the GUI and I'm hoping you guys can shed some light on this problem.

Thanks!

Hi,

It seems that there is a php memory limit issue and Softaculous runs on cpanel 3rd party binary, since your backup is big and it might be possible that php has less memory to process it.

Increase memory limit to the following file , make it to 1024M atleast:
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/etc/php.ini

And then run the following command:
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/install_php_inis

If you still face the issue then try to increase it to 2024M, and then if you still face the same issue then please open a support ticket with us we shall check the issue.
