Topic : Webuzo strengh in DB

Hi,

Webuzo illustrate a good added value for control panel such as Plesk, cPanel and others... but not so well for ISP Manager and Interworx because these 2 bring cluster and HA capabilities and after this, webuzo will allow to install scripts in a non cluster and HA context...

As most of scripts rely on Mysql, considering that some db fit as good MySQL replacement by being compliant with it, first thing would be to bring the added value of proposing during the script install what db to use instead of just using Mysql per default, ie MariaDB Galera Cluster, percona, Galera, cubrid or whatever mysql compliant db webuzo is supporting.

So we would be close to have a one click installation for HA/cluster environments.

Note : it's also useful for non HA/cluster environment, in softaculous for example, ie consider proposing Mysql but also Mariadb at script install. One of the benefits to switch to Mariadb is to bring more performance. Big players are making their switch to Mariadb by the w<ay these days. Mariadb, like others officially mention a list of scripts they certify working with their db, wordpress being one example of this list and, well, you know how much wordpress is used around the world...

I can't move the post to softaculous forum section so Correction : Webuzo is a control panel by itself, the suggestion apply to softaculous... which miss ha db webuzo is supporting, which drive me to the question : as we there no sense to have a webuzo and softaculous on the same node, do we have a webuzo remote edition ? (ie analogy with softaculous remote so that we could install apps with webuzo on remote nodes and then softaculous could rely on these installed apps for scripts to install).

Plans are yet evolving.
We will surely review in all aspects and implement this.
However, there is no ETA for the same.

Is there a solution for softaculous to install scripts to an already installed PerconaDB instead of mysql ?

Simply install Percona from the Webuzo Enduser Panel and further install the scripts from the Enduser Panel

Hope this helps :)
