How does an app (in this case, Subversion) get added to a specific host's catalog? (1 Replies, Read 808 times)

I am quite pleased with Softaculous; I have used it several times, and I find it to be a valuable tool. I would like to use my website to support a Subversion repository. Subversion is not an option in my host's Softaculous catalog. When I do a search, however, I find that Subversion is supported by Softaculous (see www.softaculous.com/webuzo/sysapps/version_control/Subversion). So, how does this work? If I ask my web host to add Subversion to its Softaculous catalog, can they comply simply by modifying their configuration? Or will they have to pay an additional fee to Softaculous? Or upgrade their subscription? Or what? I'd like to know the implications before I make any request. -TC

Webuzo is a separate product i.e. a single user control panel with Softaculous included. Installing Subversion requires root level access to the server which is not provided in Shared hosting hence a Shared user cannot install Subversion. However in Webuzo there is only one user and hence it is possible to install Subversion via Webuzo. Since you are on Shared Hosting you will have to ask your host to install Subversion on the server and they will have to install it manually since Subversion install is not available in Softaculous.
