Hello,
I changed my internal Hard Disk and I made a clear new installation of macOS. Now I have Sierra 10.12 and I'm trying to re-istall AMPPS.

I dragged the AMPPS folder to Applications and I run AMPPS with Internet connection on (no proxy), but it is not able to start and the message "unexpected AMPPS shutdown" appears on the screen.
The same if I try to open AMPPS using Terminal.

Thanks

When I insert the command:
open /Applications/AMPPS/Ampps.app/Contents/MacOS/Ampps

the Terminal replies with this error in new window:

MBP-di-onepablo:~ one$ /Applications/AMPPS/Ampps.app/Contents/MacOS/Ampps ; exit;

I am having the same issue. Were you ever able to get this fixed?

This morning I received the mail below reported by the AMPPS Support:

Hi gianpaolo,

We are testing this issue at our side.
Some user are facing the same issue and some users can run Ampps with no error.

Please install Ampps 3.5 till we resolve the issue.
If you want updated Apache and Php version then you can copy Ampps.app file from Ampps 3.5 in Ampps 3.6.

Here is link for Ampps 3.5:
http://s2.softaculous.com/a/ampps/files/AMPPS-3.5.dmg

Can you install Team Viewer and share details with us.

So does the problem with Sierra remain or has it been fixed by now?

Is there a solution in the works for this?

Downgrading to 3.5 seems like a shame - though I'm not yet entirely certain what the differences are, I'll have to review that. Though this is a big inconvenience in my opinion as I know many users, alike to myself, will rely on the more current versions of AMPPS.

What's the projected time frame for a solution?

Is there any update on this issue from Sept 29th?

downgrading works fine. you don't have access to some of the more recent php versions. I just don't want to mess with it as I am using it locally.

Other than the obvious, the downgraded version works fine.

I really love the convenience of my AMPPS environment.

Coming from XAMPP, this has saved a lot on install/setup time.

Since our servers (and most our clients) use Softaculous, it makes a world of difference.

Using the downgraded version doesn't seem to be slowing me down a lot.

Though as mentioned before, it would be nice to have access to the latest.

Would be interested in knowing what the actual Softaculous team has to say?

Hi,

On Mac OS Sierra Download this patch and extract over Ampps.
http://files.ampps.com/Ampps.zip

Go to /Applications/AMPPS directory and double click on Ampps icon, if error message appears then click on reopen button.

Or try this method:

Open Terminal and run following commands.

cd /Applications/AMPPS
./Ampps.app/Contents/MacOS/Ampps

Now close Ampps panel and try to open with double clicking on it.

If you are still facing the same issue then please open support ticket here:

The patch worked, thank you very much.

Posted By: cpart on December 3, 2016, 5:13 am | Post: 15
so when you say extract over, are you talking about the ammps directory or the ammps application in osx?

Patch is for Ampps.app file so extract it and copy Ampps.app file inside /Application/AMPPS folder.

Seems to have worked, at least with 5 minutes of use.

Rishi, I am a first-time AMPPS user with a Mac Sierra operatign system (another refugee from MAMP PRO, sigh). If I'm installing AMPPS for the first time on Mac Sierra should I download 3.6 and apply the patch rather installing 3.5?  Many thanks.

Hi,

On Mac OS Sierra Download this patch and extract over Ampps.
http://files.ampps.com/Ampps.zip

I'm not sure I've heard this particular phrasing of extracting a zip file "over" something. My best guess was putting the zip file in the AMPPS folder and extracting from within, and not extracting the file first and dragging it into the AMPPS folder.

Anyway, my guess got the program working on Sierra, with one minor but annoying issue. I can't create a dock icon for the App. If I drag the icon directly from Applications I create an icon that launches AMPPS but opens another icon in the dock. If I choose to keep THAT icon in the dock it turns into a question mark the next time I go to use it.

Any ideas?
