Hi I have built a website through Sitepad using WordPress and i have created a main menu, it works fine on computers or laptops, but when using a smart device it doesnt respond and a menu is not there to choose from. I get the menu icon, but it wont let you click on it to expand a menu. How do i fix this?

Hi John,
I have never found a problem with any menu not working. However until a moderator is able to offer additional advice, in the meantime you could try:
1.  Test your original theme (prior to your changes) by browsing to
https://sitepad.com/themes
and then find the name of the theme you installed (eg "Hydro" theme). If the original theme is working, then perhaps you have to undo some changes or reset your theme so that it works again.
2. In your PC browser there will be a 'web developer' addon you can install to help you diagnose and fault find. These are a set of tools which include a tool to view your site in a variety of screen sizes from desktop to mobile.
3. Difficult and probably unnecessary solutions may involve adding 'Custom CSS' to the Primary Menu Style via the 'header' page in your sitepad theme.

Hi,

It might be possible that a class has been removed while editing the theme or addition of custom CSS which might affect the menu.

If you could provide us with the screenshot or website URL we might be able to solve the issue for you.

Do let us know.

Hi

Thank you for your comments.

aakash - website is www.stylemesold.com.au

I have not added a custom CSS to the menu. If you could have a look at it that would be great thank you.

bearmatt - Thank you for the suggestions.

Hi John,

It seems that you have added the primary menu on each page. Instead of it being in the Header page. The Primary Menu for the mobile view is made in such a way that it will be responsive for Header Page.

Try adding the primary menu in the header page and the mobile view menu then should work properly.

Do let us know if you need any other information.

Hi

Thank you for your reply? Sorry this may be a silly question but where is the header page? Are you able to attach a screen shot of where I need to add it?

Cheers
John

Hi John,
From your Sitepad 'Dashboard'
> Click on one of the "Pages" links
> Find the page called "Header"
Hope this helps a bit

Hi John,

Sitepad is structured as follows
1. Header page appears at the top of every website page in your site
2. Footer page appears at the bottom of every website page in your site.

**So maybe you have deleted your header page**. It should be in the list of pages available in the sitepad dashboard. You will probably not be able to reconstruct your header page and might have to start again with a full site 'reset'.

In your header page, you would normally edit constant things that dont change on every page, eg Logo, maybe a contact phone number, + the main menu (the most significant content in the header)

Hopefully the attached images might help a bit.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in reply. As highlighted by @bearmatt Header and Footer Page can be found on Pages. In-case if you have deleted the Header and Footer Page you can check the trash which is highlighted on All Pages when the page has been removed from the normal listing. If you still have both the page then restore the pages.

If not then you will need to reset the full theme.

Do let us know if you need any other information.

John,

as a fellow "semi novice" in web site building this may help. (though I knows its super late).  The header and the footer are obviously the top and the bottom part of the page and load on every page. SOooo if you have info like a phone number you always want guests to see then you can build it into either "page" and it will always show above or below. Calling them pages is misleading consider it more like the header and footer of a word document.
