I've messed my Ampps install, originally it took me ages to get it working, but haven't had time to work on my worpress site for a while and upgraded to Mavericks recently.

I tried Ampps over the holidays and MYSQL would start but not Apache. So I tried an updating the version of Ampps as it is only 2.0,I thought maybe a Mavericks issue but half my folders got deleted before it said it couldn't overwrite tmp as it's in use, even if I reboot it's in use. So I tried restoring all the files & folders from time machine and now neither apache or MySQL works:(

Any really simple instructions on where to start? I spent hours and hours last time trying to find one file that had a name in..why is this stuff soo complicated.maybe I can save the WP and start afresh.

Appreciate any help I really would, sorry for being so stupid..

Hi,

Sorry for inconvenience.

For apache, please run the following command in terminal and paste the output here:
Code
sudo /Applications/AMPPS/apache/bin/httpd

For mysql, please provide us the log file, we will look into it.

if you have a backup of your WP and its database we can restore it. Also we will fix the issue with apache and mysql. you can open a ticket, we will look into the issue.

Thanks so much for the quick reply Tidus, amazing support. this is terminal response
& The mysql is attached, or should post all this in a ticket?

httpd: Syntax error on line 106 of /Applications/AMPPS/apache/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /Applications/AMPPS/php/libphp5.so into server: dlopen(/Applications/AMPPS/php/libphp5.so, 10): Library not loaded: /Applications/AMPPS/mysql/lib/libmysqlclient.18.dylib\n  Referenced from: /Applications/AMPPS/php/libphp5.so\n  Reason: image not found

It's probably missing some files, but not sure which ones, they all look there from my Time Machine backup.

Had to zip the Mysql.err file to attach it,  I presume this is the log file you meant.

Hi,

To fix mysql issue :

Delete ONLY THE FILES in /Applications/AMPPS/var folder. I will repeat delete only the files as the folders are your database. Leave .cnf file as it is. Try starting MySQL then.

Apache:

Switch PHP version and try starting apache.

Thanks Tidus, sorry but I don't understand what files you mean to delete. I tried moving various files and folders out of Var but none got mysql going again.
Please see attached image, I took a screen grab of the files & folders..Ab1 is my wordpress folder, I couldn't see any cnf file or file.

I presume with out mysql apache won't work I di try switching version but mysql isn't running.

Can't edit posts on this forum, so excuse the extra posts, I managed to get mysql there was files missing from the mysql folder! doh

But Apache won't start no matter if I change the PHP version, I am trying to replace the whole Ampps folder again but it always says the tmp file is in use and halts the copy process from time machine..I'll keep trying to find a way around it but is there a way to manually copy files from the latest version? this is just to go back to version 2.0..

Hi,

1. Open Ampps Application -> MySQL Tab -> Configuration.

2. In [mysqld] section, add the following line:
innodb_force_recovery = 1

3. Save the file and try starting MySQL

4. Remove that line which you just added and Save.
