Topic : Cannot install Wordpress on domain using the www. prefix

Posted By: daan on July 15, 2017, 4:44 am
When i try to install wordpress using Softaculous i can only chose:
Protocol: https://
Domain: sdlkfsldf.com

instead of:
Domain: www.sdlkfsldf.com

The problem is that once Wordpress is installed i cannot change it, becuse if i go to settings and do it, i lose connection permanently with the website, getting an error saying conection is not secure because of some address disparity.

What would be the way to do this correctly, im migrating a web that it is already install using the domain with www. also all links to my web are like that and anyway i want to keep it.

Is there anything i cando or tell the admin to do.

My web is stuck in the middle of a migration that has not been working for 5 days i would appreciate any kind of help. I want to move it to wordpress Softaculous so it can handle the auto updates for wordpress, plugin and themes. But my urls and links are www. and i see no option for that in the install, and after completing it changing it in wordpress breaks havoc.

Hi,

You can use our clone feature to migrate your installation from
http://softaculous.com/docs/Clone sdlkfsldf.com  to www.sdlkfsldf.com , Softaculous will automatically make all changes with www in database as well.

>>When i try to install wordpress using Softaculous i can only chose:
Protocol: https://

It seems that your host has been disabled the protocol option with www, please ask your host to enable protocol with www

Please let us know if you need any further information.
