I have a zipped wordpress site (plugins, etc) about 1.5GBs
I was wondering how would I go about loading that into a local server (I'm using AMMPS).
I have a few questions:
1. I used AMPPS to install WP. Is that correct (and then upload all the WP files) or should it be a different AMPPS install?
2. Where do I upload all the files?
(i.e. On a live server I can go to the cpanel to the files or ftp, etc.)
How do I do that on AMPPS?
3. How do I change database info on the local server (AMPPS)
4. How should I set up the AMPPS configuration so that the domain is right (i.e. when it's transferred to the live host, so all the URL's match up, etc).
5. Anything else you think I should know (I'm new to this).
Any help would be appreciated. A lot!! (This is first time).
I'm sure there's already tutorials or this question has been asked before (if you know and can point me to the url, would be appreciated).
Google's your friend. Usually if you try a search for something and you are even remotely close to what you want to find--you will come up with something which will help you narrow down your search even more. Try this link:
How to use AMPPS.
And feel free to ask still more questions if you still run into a snafu or want something explained in more detail.
