I think you missed the point.
'The upgrade' broke most of the install so I had to re-install FRESH and use the backup files from 2.6.9 that it could not see let alone read. I'm not doing remote backups, all local. You made the new without thinking of backward comparability at deployment. Not a issue if it deployed without error.

Left in the dark waiting for a fix... while my webs not functional.

How long can you go without your databases. Where is the fix  you keep talking about a month later?
