Just replace the file at:
/usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/images/universal.php

With the one attached here.

Still didn't work.
My current is v1.7
Should I uninstall and install v2 ?
And if I do, what of the users already having installed software?

No data will be lost if you upgrade.
Also replace this file attached in this post in the same location posted above
And what errors did it give you now

I already had downloaded and installed that file. I get the exact same error message as the one posted.
I am running: php /usr/local/directadmin/plugins/softaculous/cron.php from root
If I try to update from the admin page it fails every time.

Sir the files are not updated correctly.
Just delete the Softaculous Folder and do a Reinstall.
Everything will work fine.

Also dont worry about losing data. No data will be lost and no user installations will be affected.

I deleted the Softaculous directory and reinstalled. Now everything is fine.
