I have had WAMP and I have become very dissatisfied with the level of help or lack of help that they provide.

I am considering a move to AMPPS for our MySQL Databases.  What I am doing is running a program called OpenSimulator.  Which requires MySQL.  Now I run the main program on one server and have a dedicated server just for MySQL.

My questions are what is the MySQL address if I need a program on another server to access it and is there something that I do on the Router for that.

Also is it a lot of trouble to setup AMPPS and then to transfer the MySQL databases to AMPPS?

Is setup easily accomplished?  WAMPP took several tries and one of their programs to do the install on my server.

The Server I am running is a Dell Poweredge 2600 running Windows Server 2008.

Thank you for your help.

.NET scripts won't work on AMPPS, you will have to configure it manually. But yes MySQL which is needed can be useful and should be installed on other server.

I am assuming AMPPS MySQL will be installed on other server which will be accessed by your program. So your address should be the IP where AMPPS MySQL is installed. Please correct me if I misunderstood your question.

Importing Database is easy. AMPPS comes with phpmyadmin using import/export feature of it you can easily import database.

Note: MySQL conf provided by AMPPS is for development only. We wont be able to help you to configure on production server.
