Hello,
I've installed Webuzo on my VPS. I am able to login to the enduser panel with the Soft details. However, when I attempt to login to the admin panel using my root details. Username "root" and my root password, I get a password incorrect message.
I thought at first that it was a problem with my install so I wiped my server and reinstalled Webuzo. The second time around, it is the same situation.
Am I missing something? To access the Webuzo admin panel, I should login with my root server credentials, correct? If so, I know my root credentials are correct because I log into SSH with them. What could be the problem?
Operating system is CentOS 6.5. Webuzo installed on a completely clean (except for CentOS) server.
Thanks

I don't know how you can enter the username as "root".
My system only allows me to enter the one username that I chose during setup.

I suggest you try logging in as that user and see if you can access the control panel through the menus therein.

I also suggest to use ports 2003 and 2005 as they are https ports.

Once your setup is done, and you have tweaked everything to your satisfaction, block 2002 and 2004 as they offer the admin interface over plain http which is clearly not a good idea - if you type in your password it goes in plaintext - and if you have a habit of working from shared Wi-Fi or you need to access from a shared / public network, your password can be potentially seen by the network admin / someone else.

You can always ssh into your server with your root login, webuzo doesnt prevent that.

Thanks for the reply. "Root" doesn't come from Webuzo. On my VPS, when I install a fresh operating system image, it automatically creates a main user and a password.  The auto admin given is called "root". I can then log in to SSH with the username "root" and the password given. The VPS I was using before did the same thing.
The instructions for Webuzo (http://www.webuzo.com/wiki/Install) indicate that after install:
Admin Panel To login to the Softaculous Webuzo Admin Panel, visit the following URL :
https://Your-IP:2005/
OR
http://Your-IP:2004/
Login with the servers root details.
Which in my case would be username "Root" and its password. When I installed Webuzzo, I did complete the form which sets up the first user with the username "Soft". I can log into Webuzzo with the Soft login, but not my server root login. From the instructions, I am assuming that the panel (enduser) I see by logging in with the user "Soft" is not the same panel (admin panel) I would see if I were allowed to login with my server root details.
Is it correct that there are two different panels, one for admin and one for enduser, or are they the same thing?

Webuzo is a Single User Control Panel. You can access the Admin Panel as well as the Enduser Panel with the "soft" user and not as "root".

The latest version of Webuzo provides an option to hide the username by default on the login page of the panel.

"Root" doesn't come from Webuzo.

Yes, exactly. "root" user is a super-user and comes with the default centos installation. Password for the same is set be the VPS provider usually which can be later changed from the command line.

The instructions for Webuzo (http://www.webuzo.com/wiki/Install) indicate that after install:

If you have noticed in the wiki link above, on initial configuration of Webuzo .i.e when you access the following URL for initial setup, you are requested a "username", by default "soft". This user is allowed to access the Webuzo Panel and perform actions of behalf of the root user.
Hope this answers the query well enough.

The Admin Panel as well as the Enduser Panel are accessible from the same user "soft" since Webuzo is a Single User Control Panel.

Webuzo is a Single User Control Panel wherein the Admin Panel is accessible at
http://your-ip:2004
https://your-ip:2005

and the Enduser Panel is accessible at
http://your-ip:2002
https://your-ip:2003

Hope it helps.. \m/
