Is there a manual howto safe remove the installation of Softaculous?

Are uninstalling softaculous or a script insalled by softaculous.

You can delete these folders/files:
/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous
/var/softaculous
/etc/cron.d/softaculous

Then run this command:
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/unregister_cpanelplugin /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/softaculous.cpanelplugin

Hi, I was going to uninstall it and re-install since my Softaculous broke when I upgraded PHP from 5.2.8 to 5.2.10.I followed these instructions and I get this:/usr/local/cpanel/bin/unregister_cpanelplugin /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/softaculous.cpanelplugin
(internal death while parsing [stdin]) Fri Aug 21 19:37:26 2009 [3951] error: Usage /usr/local/cpanel/bin/unregister_cpanelplugin <cpanelplugin config file> at /usr/local/cpanel/bin/unregister_cpanelplugin line 19.

Managed to reinstall it, but I can't install any software anymore after the PHP upgrade. When I click on Wordpress or Joomla the installer just takes my back to the starting page.
Turned out that mysql-client was version 4 instead of 5 which caused the problem.

So is it fixed emm1

And mysql 4/5 will not be an issue for softaculous as long as cPanel can sense it

Yes it's fixed. MySQL-server was version 5 while MySQL-client was version 4, that created a problem. :)

The cPanel staff fixed the error for me and Softaculous worked again.  :D

I cant install this way is there not another way?

run it as root:
root> /usr/local/cpanel/bin/unregister_cpanelplugin /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/softaculous.cpanelplugin

Also have you deleted the Softaculous folder ?

i have deleted all the files and i am running it as root :\ it says it requires ironcube which i have installed but still does not work

Sir this file needs to be there:
/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/softaculous.cpanelplugin

Please place it in the Softaculous folder if deleted.

okay, i uninstalled it all and when re-installed i get this error

Site error: the file /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/enduser/main/functions.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator.


Now i have ioncube installed and working perfectly so i dont know why it wont work

Which cPanel firmware are you using ?

Also to enable ionCube in cPanel is very simple :
WHM -> Tweak Settings -> PHP

Enable ioncube.
