 Noob question, can softaculous be installed on shared hosting? (4 Replies, Read 5765 times)

Hello there, I'm wondering, I loved softaculous so much, but my current hosting did not provide one. (hostgator), I'm on their shared hosting baby plan. can the softaculous be installed in my cpanel??

I am afraid that is not possible.
You will have to ask them to install it.

Many VPS hosts are offering quality Virtual private servers at low cost .Why don't you get VPS account from one of them ?

I was looking up about why softaculous isn't included in hostgators cpanel and found this thread (it's too bad that hostgator doesn't include softaculous). Could you, or anyone since this thread is 6 months old, elaborate the advantages of using a VPS over shared hosting like hostgator?

Hi,

A VPS is a full server in a small package.
Its obviously more powerful than shared hosting.
It will cost you more sir.
