I ran the update from http://www.ampps.com/wiki/How_to_update_Ampps_Manually and upgraded from 3.4 to 3.5 just now (first time that actually worked for me...). All went smooth until I tried starting Apache. Nothing. Just nothing.
So I started restoring default configs and various stuff. No go. Then I started googling and found a thread where someone was recommended to run
Code
sudo /Applications/AMPPS/apache/bin/httpd
in the terminal. Said and done. And an error message appeared
Code
httpd: Syntax error on line 568 of /Applications/AMPPS/apache/conf/httpd.conf: Could not open configuration file /Applications/AMPPS/python/python.conf: No such file or directory
And there really was no python.conf file in that directory. So I copied the one from Ampps/conf folder and pasted into the python dir and everything is fine.
So either a file is missing or the path in httpd conf is incorrect.
Just thought I'd let you know.

Ampps 3.5 on Mac and invalid path/missing file to python.conf
So more problems manifested themselves today. All php.ini files for all versions except 5.3 were empty. And by that I mean that the files had excactly zero rows. Restoring default config had the same effect.
If I started adding extensions for a PHP version those lines were added but nothing else. Solved by opening the default config files and copy-pasting into the the respective version files. Very odd.
I have also noticed that the AMPPS program file inside "Ampps" in /Applications on Mac does not have an icon, but the folder does (and so does Amupdate).
