 Can't start apache after updating to 2.4 on Mavericks (5 Replies, Read 3277 times)

Hi There,

I've had Ammps running without any issues since installing about 6 weeks ago. Today I did the update to 2.4.

I can run ampps (so the GUI) starts but pressing the start button appears to do nothing. The stop/restart remains greyed out as if I haven't pressed anything.

I know that there used to be a problem on Mavericks previously. Could it be related?

I've tried restarting the computer and not opening anything else up.

When I click the "home" button it goes to http://localhost/ampps/ but says it can't connect.

There's nothing new added to the log files.

I have set up a symlink to dropbox but I don't think that should matter as it was working previously.

Could you please help as I can't work on anything at the moment.

Hi,

Please run the following command in terminal,
sudo /Applications/AMPPS/apache/bin/httpd

and let us know the output.

hi - i get:

AH00526: Syntax error on line 207 of /Applications/AMPPS/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
DocumentRoot must be a directory

When I go to the file it just says:

DocumentRoot "”

Any ideas as to what I should do?

Hi,

If you haven't changed anything in the conf file. You can restore it from AMPPS App -> Apache Tab -> Restore Default Configuration.

Thanks. That has got it starting again but...

When I go to localhost I get a message that says "it works"
When I click "home" I get a blank page
When I go to one of the sites that I set up (I have multiple sites) I get the "it works"

I guess something odd has gone on. I tried running the  ln -s /Users/matt/Dropbox/htdocs  /Applications/AMPPS/www command again to create a symlink and get the message "file exists".

Any ideas?
