Hi!

We are planning to buy a new physical machine in order to move some of our VM's (actually 19 VM's) to a better hardware.

We are aware of the "Migrate VPS" option, however, we've never used it, that's why we prefer to ensure we're doing it right.

Questions:

1. We are using KVM as hypervisor, which actually supports live migration. Shall we expect any downtime?

2. We want the servers to continue to work with the same IP's, is that possible?

Any advise will be highly appreciated as there are really critical machines.

Thank you :)

Hello,

Sir, you can migrate your KVM VMs without any hassle through our GUI migration tool.

>> We are using KVM as hypervisor, which actually supports live migration. Shall we expect any downtime?

Yes sir, before the migration, VM will be shut down till the time migration process is executed.

>> We want the servers to continue to work with the same IP's, is that possible?

Yes sir, you can do that. Just make sure with your Datacenter that your both the servers are in same network and Pool can be shared.

You just need to edit the IP pool and assign it to Old server and new server both.

For more information, you can anytime contact us through support ticket or email us at support@virtualizor.com

Thank you

Regards,
Virtualizor Team.
