 MCrypt required for Laravel's artisan, MCrypt required for Laravel apps (1 Replies, Read 6474 times)

Hi,
I'm trying to create an app using Laravel 4 in OSX Mavericks. Composer complains because the lack off MCrypt at the end of the run, but looks to work anyway, but now 'artisan' stop with the following msg:
'Mcrypt PHP extension required.'

I've been looking for mcrypt references in the forum but no luck.

It looks like available:

Registered Stream Filters    convert.iconv.*, mcrypt.*, mdecrypt.*, bzip2.*, string.rot13, string.toupper, string.tolower, string.strip_tags, convert.*, consumed, dechunk, zlib.*

and under the mcrypt label we can find

It looks like available, but not working. Any clue?
