Does phpList not work with PHP 5.3?  I get an error saying that it will not work with PHP 5.3.  I'm very surprised to find a script that has not yet implemented support for PHP 5.3.

Their website:

http://docs.phplist.com/SystemRequirements.html

seems to indicate that their developers use PHP 5.3.

It seems that Softaculous is stopping phpList from installing on systems with PHP 5.3.  However, I don't know if this is something that has been overlooked by Softaculous developers?  Perhaps in the past, phpList did not work with PHP 5.3, but they have since fixed it, but Softaculous has not yet removed that catch.  Or perhaps phpList really doesn't support PHP 5.3.

Well, the little dab of text to the left of that table says:

The developers use the following setup:
  • Ubuntu 10.04
  • Mysql 5.1.41-3
  • PHP 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.7 with Suhosin-Patch (cli)

Which leads you to believe that it will work with PHP 5.3.  It's a bit confusing.

Hi,

Sir we have tested this on PHP 5.3 and there are issues with PHP 5.3

Since the System Requirements do not recommend to use phpList on PHP 5.3.x server we have added this check.

If you still wish to allow your users to use phpList on PHP 5.3 you can configure the following hook to define the PHP version :

Hi,

We have disabled it because of the PHPList requirements.
We have emailed them regarding this issue and we are awaiting response from them. If they confirm that PHPList is compatible with PHP 5.3 we will remove the check for the same.

Hi,

We have removed the PHP 5.3 check for PHPList.

Please execute the CRON command to get the latest package and then you should be able to install it on any PHP version.
