Could not include the bootstrap.php. One of the reasons could be open_basedir restriction !

I've seen this message in this forum a couple of times but I don't see where there has ever been a solution.

I just moved the site to a new server and now I can't get past this error message.

Any help appreciated.

You could try this, worked for me for the new SitePad directory scheme:

  • index.php
    PHP Code
     $sitepad['sitepad_plugin_path'] = '/home/username/sitepad-editor';
    $sitepad['editor_path'] = '/home/username/sitepad-editor'
  • phpMyAdmin database - table spXX-options
    Code
    template_root - /home/username/sitepad-editor/site-data/themes

First, you should check the open_basedir settings in your PHP configuration. Ensure that the directory containing bootstrap.php is included in this setting. You can usually find this in your php.ini file or through your hosting control panel.

If you have access to the php.ini file, consider editing it to either remove the open_basedir restriction entirely or to add the necessary path where bootstrap.php is located.

Make sure bootstrap.php actually exists and the path in your include/require statement is correct.
Check open_basedir setting
Create a phpinfo(); file and look for:
open_basedir
If the directory containing bootstrap.php is not listed, PHP will block it.

It sounds like you're encountering a common issue with the open_basedir restriction. You might want to check your PHP configuration to ensure that the directory containing bootstrap.php is included in the allowed paths. If you have access to your server's php.ini file, you can modify the open_basedir directive. If not, consider contacting your hosting provider for assistance. Good luck!
