Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 7 Status:	If a user uses current cPanel functionality and sets up the admin area as a PW Protected Area, the PW protection is often wiped out in the upgrade process due to the .htaccess file being missing or not containing that code. Locking down the .htaccess with something like 400 or 404 permissions doesn't help either. Not sure if this would be better handled by either keeping all current .htaccess by default (or if permissions are 400 or 404?) or searching for the occurrences of: AuthType Basic AuthName... AuthUserFile ... require valid-user in a current .htaccess and ensuring that it remains.
