Webuzo Panel Configuration, Hostname / Panel Domain entry (2 Replies, Read 421 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 2 Status:	hostname is listed by the hosting company interserver: vps______ Webuzo asks for Hostname / Panel Domain in the configuration. I entered vps_____. [domain name.com] which did not get an error afterwards. Is this correct?Do I need to enter anything at godaddy for registration.(I am forwarding the domain A record to the vps ip address and added the domain to my domain list) (Is it alright that I am using this forum or is this too simple and should be checking with the hosting company?) I like webuzo on my vps.So far it provides everything I need.

Group: Webuzo Team Post Group: Newbie Posts: 19 Status:	Yes, that is correct. You can use the hostname provided by InterServer as the Hostname in Webuzo. Please note that you cannot use your main domain name directly as the hostname. The hostname should be a subdomain, such as `vps.example.com` or `server.example.com`. You do not need to register the hostname separately with GoDaddy. Just make sure the A record for the hostname points to your VPS IP address.

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 2 Status:	Here is the solution I used:The hosting company listed the IP address as the hostname.For the webuzo "Hostname / Panel Domain" I entered a domain that is currently not being used. (topcorporations.net - Since I have extra domains this is not a problem.)At the registry (godaddy), I entered topcorporations.net, clicked the DNS hostnames and added the host from the hosting account and the ip address of the webuzo VPS. That seems to solve the problem. With regards to the email server, that is not necessary at this point and webuzo has a feature called email deliverablity, which is useful. Thank you gaurav_tiwari for a great suggestion, which I will use later, when I want to free up the current hostname for something else.
