So this problem already existed back in 2014??????

Now, in 2018, on a clean install, I get:

2018-10-18 14:38:02 76729 [Warning] InnoDB: Cannot open table mysql/slave_master_info from the internal data dictionary of InnoDB though the .frm file for the table exists. See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en/innodb-troubleshooting.html for how you can resolve the problem.
2018-10-18 14:38:02 76729 [Warning] Info table is not ready to be used. Table 'mysql.slave_master_info' cannot be opened.
