Hi,

The Softaculous Team is very happy to announce the release of the WHMCS Plugin which will enable users to install a script when they sign up for a account using WHMCS.

The Documentation on installing this Module is available :
http://www.softaculous.com/wiki/index.php?title=WHMCS_Auto_Install_Module

This feature is truly unique to Softaculous and will it will enable WebHosts to further simplify Installation of Scripts for their users. Users will be able to choose from a list of scripts when they sign up in WHMCS and also give their Admin Details. When the account is created by WHMCS, it will also install the Script the user had selected.

The user can straight away go to their Blogs, forums, Wikis, etc. when the account is set up automatically.

We are also developing our Wiki / Documentation for our users :
http://www.softaculous.com/wiki/

If you have any suggestions or feed back, please post them here.

Regards,
The Softaculous Team

Hi, a few questions:

1. Is there a way to show the apps under groups? we want to show most or all of the scrips available and it can be confusing if they are not organized.

2. Can we preselect an app via an url variable? how?

3. Can you post a full list of app names comma separated to introduce this fast?

Regards,

Yes a full list ready to fit into the options area would be a big bonus as the one in the wiki is only a small sample list

i also have over 50 products in my WHMCS, so to manually add this to every one is time consuming, can we not have a module that can be added to WHMCS asnd then this can be automatically added to all products or a way to have this in the utilities area and then just click to which product we wnat this added and then it can be automatically added to the products chosen

1) I dont think it will be possible to do that as the form is controlled by WHMCS in this case.
2) No, we havent added that code.
3) That list is dynamic and will keep changing, hence we didnt add it.

@easyhost, we will check if such a thing is possible to add it to selectable products. We couldnt go for a module as the Panel Modules are already made and ENCODED by WHMCS. Hence adding it to the module code wasnt possible.

many modules are made to integrate with WHMCS for various addons, but for me to manually add this to all my products is just not cost effective timewise

I have uploaded the file to /whmcs/includes/hooks/
I have added all four fields exactly as in your screenshots
I have tried on two different servers to auto-install WordPress but it does not work.
After accepting the order in WHMCS, the account is created on the server, but WordPress is not installed.

Yes, I did remove them. I can't have something which is broken on my live order form. The fields were *exactly* the same as your screenshots, except that I only had one entry for script:

WordPress

order is accepted, but the script is not installed. I tried this many times.

OK, I struggled with this pull-in on and off for days..

The Softaculous team was great and fixed on an old WHMCS install I had (Pre 4.1) but I still could not get it to work on other installs.

Finally, I gave up and had one of my techs look at this (which ticks me off, I still like keeping my hands dirty per se..) and she figured it out.  Be sure on your firewall port 2082 or port 2083 is open for OUTGOING on the server you have WHMCS installed, otherwise it hangs and fails.

Hope this helps someone else.....

Unsure about other peoples issues but if mine installs in a directory but not in the root, then it won't be an issue with capitalisation on the scriptnames.

the last lot of posts are about not being able to post in the root directory, I doubt that this is firewall related when it will 'sometimes' install in a directory ok.

I'm confused that you're response is that there doesn't seem to be an issue, but I've just read this thread where you have posted and it seems to be an issue?

http://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=711&title=Req:_Default_Installation_Directory_set_to_/public_html/

Can you please elaborate or explain exactly what a user should do to get a script in the root directory?

Leave the directory field empty.

Ok, so it doesn't work then for me and probably those above that have the same issue. If you test it with say wordpress and it installs fine if you enter directory name, then try again leaving it blank and it only works if you enter a directory that indicates (in my eyes) a definite issue in the coding rather than something we are all doing wrong. No?

No. If it was coding it wouldn't work for anyone, and it works for me. It could be a mix of coding and your environment.

I'm experiencing difficulty as well.  Trying to install WordPress, and it's not working with or without a directory specified.  Fields are correct.  cURL appears to be enabled.  I added both 2082 and 2083 in TCP_OUT using ConfigServer Security & Firewall in WHM.  I'm using WHMCS 4.3.1

I've emailed support, but no solution yet.  Just reporting my findings, but if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to give them a try.

Okay... I did get Joomla to install and this is what I did. I went through the order process as a client and selected Joomla as my script, I left the "Directory" field blank. It did not install. I did it again and I put "none" in the "Directory" field and it installed. However, I also manually used the "Create" feature in WHMCS and I did not "Accept" the order through my fraud protection. So at this point I am not sure if the fraud protection has something to do with it or if it has something to do with the "Directory" field. Either way I see this as progress I just don't want my clients being forced to have to create a sub directory for their script.

Gives all of us something else to try as well to help get to the bottom of this I guess. I'll investigate later and report back.

I have a feeling it might be because that script also requires you to nspecify an admin directory name.
When installing it through Softaculous the normal way, then it works just fine though.

Right so too many people now seem to be saying they're having the same issue for it to be something someone is or isn't doing. I think this issue is a major one and needs to be taken a bit more seriously by the developers to get a suitable fix. This might be a free addon but it made me pay for Softaculous and without this working I don't want Softaculous.

The thing that makes me mad is Softaculous is nothing special compared to fanstastico apart from it works with more scripts which is fine. But this addon is an amazing selling point and something different, and it seems to be less of a priority. If I were working for Softaculous, I'd force the development to iron this issue out as it is such a strong selling point.

Please do not see this as a negative, it's meant as a positive, You have a product similar to fanstastico, and they could catch up quick enough to the number of third party products you support but you go further with this addon if it only worked! And to get it to work really shouldn't be based on one to one support.

Correct.  It's just the Ajax form that is not working.  The normal form is working.  We were hoping to use the Ajax form, if possible.

Hi,

Its working perfectly fine.
You had set the product to be set up when the first payment was made.
I changed it to setup when the Order is placed and it worked just fine

Note : The next version will soon be available with DEBUGGING Capabilities.

Alons

Thanks Alons.  I just realized the problem.  It doesn't work for me in Google Chrome browser.  I ran a transaction using Firefox, and it worked fine; but WordPress doesn't install when I checkout using Chrome.  The regular multi-page checkout does install the script when using Chrome, but the Ajax checkout via Chrome does not result in installation.

Think that might be a bug?

Hi,

I dont think this will be a bug of the Softaculous Hook.
It has to do something with the Ajax order form.

Hi,

We have updated the WHMCS Module :
http://www.softaculous.com/autoinstall.zip

There are debugging options now which will help you to check for errors.
A detailed description on how to debug is also documented :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/WHMCS_Auto_Install_Module

Our Script works with the Ajax Order Form as well.

Alons

Did you delete the account in WHM before you tested it? It sounds like you tried to create an account that already existed.

Just curious.

@lochie, you must terminate the account first.
Then save the script as lime survey and then click on "Create Account"
A mere change in script and clicking on Create does not save the changes in WHMCS and it will install the old script selected.

@lochie, your first post says that it installed properly but not in the root directory.

The error you just posted means the account is already there.
Please "Terminate" and then re-create the account.

Hi,

First please add the new softaculous.php and softaculous_debug.php in the WHMCS folder.
Then please create a Dummy Order and then create the account using the "Create" button.
Please then let us know of the error.

The current error you gave is of WHMCS and is not a Softaculous Module error.
Also we have UPDATED the documentation with screenshots sir :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/WHMCS_Auto_Install_Module

There is complete details on the documentation page which shows a sample error as well as the success message when they occur during the DEBUG mode.

In order to help you further I need to know the error that OUR module throws.

Alons

I finally got around to installing this.

Took about 45 minutes from start to finish including testing and everything works almost perfectly - even WordPress in the document root.

I can confirm there seems to be an issue with the ajax checkout+chrome+auto install module. It drops the script information when installing, and does not generate any errors.

Overall, very impressed for an initial release. Tweak the ajax checkout a bit, and it will be a 100% integration success. Thanks for the great module.

Is there a newer version of the Auto installer ?

I got it to install twice and now it won't install at all.

I am using WHMCS on the same server as my DirectAdmin Reseller but the accounts have a different username. The account creates but no script is installed.

Using the debug.php I get the following:

Installation not completed. cURL Error : Recv failure: Connection reset by peer
The following errors occured :

There is nothing after " The following errors occured: "

TCP_IN and TCP_OUT both have 2222 and 2223 ports allowed on CSF. Once again, everything is on the same server.

I have copied the diagram on http://www.softaculous.com/wiki/index.php?title=WHMCS_Auto_Install_Module word for word, dot for dot, and Cap for Cap. As I say, it installed twice and then quit. It won't even install on a sub directory.

I am trying to host blog scripts ( bought two domains to do it ) and also forum scripts ( bought one domain so far ). I wanted to make the Directory entry admin only but was worried that it would not install. Is it possible to do this ? Of course, that is if I can find a way to get it to install again...

Thanks for any help.

Raymond

I am paying monthly license fee to my provider but when I have tried to install WHMCS I have been asked to enter license or obtain trial license for WHMCS. I am a bit confused ... Am I paying only Softaculous license or I have to pay additional license to use WHMCS? Please respond. Thanks a lot.

You're paying for Softaculous.

WHMCS is a 3rd party application and have extra costs involved. Softaculous simply just makes it easier for you to install & upgrade WHMCS.

Friend, I'm installing Wordpress with the WHMCS Softaculous using AutoInstall, I'm not using Softaculous in cPanel, it appears the option to choose which language will be installed, so I'm seeking help on how to change it otherwise.

Hi all,

This script works great and it auto installed 5 WordPress sites for my hosting customers without a flaw.

Just one question though, confuses some users who don't want any script installed.

When they select None for script install users get the following signup form error:

#  Admin Name is required  #  Admin Pass is required  #

Anyway to get around this? It should not be need a user or password for anything.

Hi,

I think I have found a bug with this app.

I can get it to install Wordpress ok into the root directory (installing into another directory does not work but I am not worried about that) but if I create an order which does not have it's own domain name but is a subdomain it does not work.

i.e.

Theirdomain.com = OK
Theirdomain.Mydomain.com = FAIL

I hope this makes sense and is confirmed as an issue as this was my main intended use for this.

Strange, because cURL is enabled on the server running WHMCS and the server that hosts the accounts.

PHP 5.6 is being used on both servers, does this hook work with that version?

Kind regards,
Chris

Ah. Figured it was a firewall issue. All sorted now.

How can I disable the email notification that is sent from Softaculous regarding New Installation of <insert script> ?

I know I could disable all the emails within Softaculous admin panel on the server but still want the emails to be sent when scripts are installed within the Softaculous AutoScript installer from the end user panel, I just don't need the email to be automatically sent after the order has been approved for this Module.

It seems this is hardcoded into the Softaculous file which is encoded, and so I'm not able to change this. Or it's being sent from the server as normal. If so, is it possible for the file to be updated so we can disable the email notifications regarding New Installation of <insert script> ?

Anyone?

Hi,

You can add the following line to softaculous_extra.php to disable emails being sent when a script is installed via WHMCS auto install module :
PHP Code

 $GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['noemail'] = '1'

Brijesh,

Could you update this to support PHP 7? Those using WHMCS can't use PHP 7 otherwise!

Code

Please ask the provider of the script to provide a version encoded with the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.6. in Unknown on line 0

Thanks,

Having major issues with this.

Have tried different versions of php too and still get the same results.

The complete backend of WHMCS breaks with a 500 error each time I add the softaculous file.

Any reason for this? Removing the file and everything works.

Cheers

Hi,

The file in downloads section of WHMCS auto install module for PHP 7 was incorrect causing the issue with WHMCS on PHP 7

I have re-uploaded the file. You can download the file (if you are using PHP 7.x) here :
http://files.softaculous.com/autoinstall56.zip

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Let us know if you still face the issue.

Hi Brijesh,

That new file worked great. I have it setup to automatically assign the password so haven't specified the Admin Password as a custom field.

Have tested it and there is one issue I can find. It doesn't send the client the password if the password custom field is left for the script to run. If it does create the password, is there a way of sending the password to the account that's created, when WHMCS sends email?

Thanks

Hi,

The installation details are sent via email by Softaculous. This installation details will include the password as masked i.e. "****"

If you would like to receive the password in plain text you will need to enable the following setting in Softaculous Admin panel -> Settings "Email password in plain text" and save the settings.

If you are unable to find the email please check your SPAM folder.

Let us know if you face any issues.

Hi,

The key ['defaults'] was missing in your code. Please use the below in your softaculous_extra.php and it should work.

Code
$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['disable_notify_update'] = 1; //Disable Update Notifications
$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['eu_auto_upgrade'] = 1; //Auto Upgrade
$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['auto_upgrade_plugins'] = 1; //Auto Upgrade WordPress Plugins
$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['auto_upgrade_themes'] = 1; //Auto Upgrade WordPress Themes

Let us know if you still face the issue.

One last thing, sorry, on page 7 of this thread, you posted the following to disable the emails that get sent out when a script is insrtalled

$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['noemail'] = '1';

But I am still getting the email sent

Hi,

The above line should disable emails for installation.

Can you please check if the email you received was for the account that was created or for any previous action ?

Hi,

The password strength conflicts with my setup and get errors after the account is setup saying the strength didn't match my 75% limit.

Can this be changed so new accounts created will assign a password of at least a 75% strength? Where can I edit this?

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

You can enable using special characters in random generated passwords replacing the following line :
PHP Code

 $GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['use_special_chars'] = 0

with
PHP Code

 $GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['use_special_chars'] = 1

We have also made changes in our WHMCS module to allow configuring custom length for random admin password generated.

Please download the latest WHMCS module here :
http://www.softaculous.com/docs/WHMCS_Auto_Install_Module#Download_and_Upload

Upload the softaculous.php to your server and add the following line to your softaculous_extra.php to set custom length for random password :
PHP Code

$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['rand_pass_length'] = 15// This will generated random password of 15 characters

Hello,

This hook adds great (and much needed) functionality.  I am able to provision the script - WordPress.  I've also managed to set a default username and password.

But a couple of flags are not being set correctly.

$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['admin_email'] = 'myemail@domain.com';
$GLOBALS['softaculous_conf']['defaults']['noemail'] = '1';

I initially tried to set the noemail flag to 1 to disable the install notification.  When that didn't work, I thought I would set the admin email to something different, but that also didn't work.  The install email is still being sent the client address.

Am I doing anything wrong?

thanks.

Can you make sure this line is not in the commented part of softaculous_extra.php

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

Our support team is looking into your ticket and is in touch with you over the ticket.

Also are you able to install the script from the cPanel account created (i.e. via Softaculous GUI) ?
