I recently switched hosts, and the new host offered a free website migration as part of the deal. My WordPress site was duplicated, but it was not in Softaculous (which is available on cpanel). I noticed that Softaculous offers an import feature and did some research into it. It appears to be simple enough, but I'm a little apprehensive. Will importing my website overwrite my current one? Or does it make a backup so that if something goes wrong, I can redirect my domain to the prior non-Softaculous installation? Do I delete the current copy (which is in the root folder) after importing to Softaculous, or does Softaculous use the files in that folder?

Hi,

We have 3 options in Import :

1. Remote Import which will import files and database from a remote server :
https://www.softaculous.com/docs/enduser/remote-import/

2. Local Import which will just add the installation to Softaculous records and will not touch the files database of your installation :
https://www.softaculous.com/docs/enduser/how-to-import-an-installation/

3. Bulk Import which will look for existing installation files and will add those installations to Softaculous records without touching the files and database :
https://www.softaculous.com/docs/enduser/bulk-import-manual-installations/

From your case it seems the 2nd and 3rd option should work for you as you have already transferred the files and database of your installation.
