index.html problem

index.html problem, Having a problem with the index.html page (4 Replies, Read 3503 times)

Group: Member Post Group: Newbie Posts: 7 Status:	Folks, Due to some confusion on my part - I had several home.html pages. In sorting these out I believe I may have renamed index.html at one point. I now have in the \public_html directory - the files that I'd expect to see.. but if I do any editing, save and publish on home.html - index.html is modified, not reflecting the changes I made to home.html - instead index.html show an empty blog entry with the message that the empty blog can be deleted. To make index.html work right again - I have to go into home.html with a plain text editor, select ALL, then COPY. I then go into index.html with the same plain text editor, select ALL and then PASTE (overwriting the existing code.) When saved - index.html is the same as home.html. The question I have is - why is index.html changed to the bizarre empty blog page every time I modify and save home.html and then publish it? What's up with this?
