I  would like to know if Softaculous can be used with godaddy hosting to install Joomla, and if yes, what would be the process to follow.

Thanks.

Hi,

You will need to contact the Godaddy team and ask them to install Softaculous for you.

If you already have root access to your server you can install Softaculous using the following guide :

With shared hosting, not VPS,  ionCube installed nicely on GoDaddy, but with the restrictions on shared hosting for root, GoDaddy does not make it possible, nor would they install for me (Jan 2017).  Please respond if you know otherwise--the one tech I spoke with said they could not.  From the most recent ticket I had from Softaculous:

Hi,
You won't be able to install Softaculous on your shared hosting environment since it requires root details to install it.
However if you wish to install Softaculous on your shared hosting environment, you shall need to contact your host to do it for you.
If you have your own VPS and want to install Softaculous, you can do the same by following the guide mentioned on my previous reply with valid root access.
