Im in a similar situation but on OSX Mavericks. I dont know why, but i had configured 127.0.0.1 localhost before, and i removed it and it works a little bit faster. But sometimes it just hangs, like a bottle neck if you understand. Just didnt tried 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1, you think it could work?
thanks
Hey there,
Right so i got the speed increase by uncommenting "# 127.0.0.1 localhost" this was on mavericks and it gave me the speed increases.
So after that i had a hanging issue with mysql (not apache). If i remember correctly nothing i did (restarting the app or computer) would get mysql going again.
The only way i found i could make this work was to delete the files in the mysql bin and then ampps would rebuild it when it turned the service on. However the side effect was it killed my databases...
solution i moved to mamps - lifes to short.
