Is it safe to execute without issue:

yum update

and install/update all the packages on the slave?

Example packages to install/update:

Yes, OpenVZ is installed. I just want to make sure that it will not break anything in Virtualizor, or for the clients VPS.

Hi,

No, it won't.
Reboot would be required to boot in new kernel.
