Yes, I understand that, what I am talking about is the initial installation. If Softaculous could, as part of the installation process, make certain folders writable it would make it much easier for people using WordPress' own internal plugin installation and upgrade system.
At the moment, a user who wants a fully functioning WordPress must figure out how to CHMOD folders and, also, create the .htaccess file that will allow them to have permalinks.
An installer that handled all of that would save its users a lot of time and trouble.
