Softaculous not sending email on Install

No joy.
I've tried both SMTP (with correct settings) and PHP. I posted a little PHP script and it works great. All check-boxes are clear that would prevent Softaculous from sending mail.
I'm at a loss...
PHP: 5.4.24Softaculous 4.4.2CentOS 6.5WHM 11.42.0
