Hi Alons, it would be handy for others, we had this added to our server by boonex agent cost us $30 as their installation instructions are a bit complex, so that you have to end up paying them to install this.

I am surprised they would consider this myself, there are a lot of reasons NOT to offer it.  RMS as it stands is a Developers Kit and has dependencies like JRE and available memory and it won't run well (if at all) on shared hosting.

RMS is best installed at root level and shared by all the domains because it uses a lot of resources.  There is also the security problem of making sure the correct ports are open for RMS to communicate.  Personally I Have No problem getting RMS set up properly although as you say it isn't a simple "create a DB and run install".

Don't get me wrong I would love to see this installer, but the only way I could see it installing properly and consistently with everything communicating properly is if it installed JRE+RMS+Dolphin locally, as a package.

Since JRE is server OS specific is would have check for JRE, get the operating system from the server, compare that to a table to identify the JRE version to DL, Wget the RPM to extract and install, pass the JAVE_HOME path to RMS, install RMS, check for ports 1365, 1366 and 5080 being open/open the ports, install Dolphin, install the flash mods in Dolphin set up the RMS connection.

I would love it and it is possible, but to do it on a mass basis installer would have to waste resources and I would not recommend it for anyone with less than 1 GB of free memory on thier system before they started.

I guess what I am saying is that it is a lot more complicated than "get user input, create database, write user input to configuration file" and it would waste a lot of resources that shared hosting and most VPS's don't have.

Works fine on my VPS and does not use a lot of resources, infact it is dolphin that uses more resources and yes RMS is a root level application, but any client with a shared plan can use RMS without problem.
