Actually, I figured out what was going on just after posting the message.

Interworx has a clustering option that changes localhost to the ip address when activated. One of our crew enabled this by accident and tried to cover it up then could not get it to deactivate. To fix this issue clustering would need to be turned off unless an actual cluster exists.
