Hi! 2025 here, so I searched on previous posts if my question would have been already answered and found this thread, which is exactly what I was looking for.

I found the very same error on my Softaculous stating that bbPress project is not maintained for more that two years, but checking their website, I can see that the last update is not even one year old as of now.

So I guess you could add some information helping users understand that bbPress is now a WordPress plugin and, even if one decides to use Softaculous to install it, the user should be aware that the Softaculous error message is not correct.

I wonder how many of us have given up on bbPress installation because of this misleading Softaculous error?
