Hello,
My hosting provider, HawkHost, offers RVSiteBuilder, Softaculous, and another similar tool.

I'm trying to create my own website and host my existing free WordPress blog, along with a gallery. Initially, I tried RVSiteBuilder, but I struggled with it and couldn't figure out how to add certain features or import my WordPress blog. Frustrated, I moved on to Softaculous.

I've decided to import my blog to my domain and use a WordPress theme that gives it the feel of a real artist's website instead of just a blog. However, I'm having trouble getting Softaculous to work properly as well.

Right now, when I visit my domain, it shows a default HawkHost page indicating that no files have been uploaded, along with options to log into my cPanel.

I accessed Softaculous in my cPanel and tried to install WordPress. The first time, I set the directory to "wp," which created a new WordPress installation. Unfortunately, this meant I couldn't import my old blog, and it was installed under mydomain.com/wp instead of directly on my domain. I managed to export/import my blog, but realized I was still seeing the HawkHost default page when typing just my domain.

After uninstalling the Softaculous WordPress app, I tried again and believed I successfully uploaded a new WordPress blog directly to my domain without the "/wp" suffix. However, it wouldn't let me import my old blog, saying files were already present. Whenever I typed my domain in a browser, I still saw the HawkHost page.

I've installed and uninstalled the app three or four times, but it never recognizes that I've uploaded anything. I even tried importing without clicking install first, but that resulted in an error message every time.

I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong? And why when I've installed the app does my domain not show as having anything loaded to it?

Hello,

I think this isn't the correct section, as it's not a WeBuzo issue, but rather a Softacolous issue.

Also, I recommend contacting your hosting provider for support, as there's likely a problem with the information you entered.

Hi,

Please reach out to your hosting provider regarding this issue.

Let us know.

They are the best resource for troubleshooting issues related to the information entered in Softaculous, as they have direct access to the server logs and can verify the details.
