After doing some searching here in this forum, I found no answer, so I already submitted a Support Ticket (#XXXXXX) at about 12:09a PT 7/2.
I've made the decision in the lull of the college sports season, to move my local (at home) web server fully to the cloud. So I have a Digital Ocean Droplet that is running on CentOS 7.3 with WHM/cPanel version 64.0 build 29.
I must have had the free version of Softaculous on it, and now that I've paid for a license after a few months, I can't get it to refresh via the admin area, nor the command line for the cron job do do so manually, and it just hangs.
This is the command I gathered from the docs page.
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/cron.php
When I click on "Softaculous - Instant Installs" from the WHM admin panel, I get the following error:
"Your license (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) is not
active or it has expired. If your license has expired, please renew it
to continue using this Software.
Refresh License"
This also goes no where, but a loop. I've already tried following the guide to "remove" Softaculous, and then restarted my server, and run the install. If I run the normal install, I get errors about:
"APPLICATION - Software not found.....Needs Update
Fetching Latest File......Could not SAVE latest file......Continuing
Mirror : s3.softaculous.com",
though I can easily ping these mirror servers. So not sure what's going on. Yet if I choose to do the " --quick" install, then it bypasses trying to gather up the files until a later time.
As "Digital Ocean" seems to be a popular cloud service for the common man so to speak, as it's better suited for the individual with minimal funds, versus the old standby of Amazon Web Services, or Elastic Computing, maybe there are some other common issues involved that need to be put down for others to follow to help get them on track for using Softaculous, Webuzo, etc.
Thank you for reading, or skimming through this. All criticisms taken, along with other thoughts and possibilities to try. Again, I'd love to get my home server fully moved up, but since I already have a license there, it helps to have one set in place as I transfer the websites over.
